They were moving to their forever family home and were in the great position of having one built. This is such an exciting time because it gives you a complete blank canvass, but at the same time can be incredibly daunting. New builds are not without their problems and hurdles and the amount of decisions you need to make can be overwhelming, from bathroom fittings to light switches to tiles to flooring down to hinges on doors.
Alex had wisely made an ideas book taking pictures from magazines and websites of the kind of look she wanted and because we had worked together before I already knew their style and the kind of things they would like. She had already chosen the kitchen and bathrooms and had a plan, sort of! When we got together my brief was to turn their new build into their home.
We started with items of furniture that were coming with them and planning around those and also provided lots of new items to complete the scheme
We provided everything from the colour scheme of the whole house. All the sofas, chairs, footstools were made to measure by our expert upholsterer and curtains, blinds and soft furnishings made and fitted by us.
The painting was done by the house building company then we stepped in at the end to wallpaper the bedrooms.
We used fabrics from various companies, the majority being Sanderson. It has worked beautifully for the classic look in the sitting room and a more contemporary feel in the kitchen teamed with Clarke and Clarke’s classic stripe.
